Wicker Park Engagements – Jaime and Phil : Chicago Engagement Photographer

I lived in Wicker Park for three years, and I still love the area. When Jaime and Phil told me that they wanted to do their engagement session in Wicker Park, I was thrilled! Even in the few years that I’ve been gone, it’s amazing how much the area has changed. Even though I didn’t recognize half of the storefronts while walking down Damen or Milwaukee, we had no problem finding cool, urban backgrounds for our engagement session. Jaime and Phil – I loved getting to work with you, and I’m looking forward to your wedding!

Oh, and if you can’t see the point of the CTA bus picture on the right in this post, look closer.

Damn, gorgeous shots again. Where is that walk-up taqueria window located? I’m not trying to steal your locations, I swear.

The couple looks really happy in all of their shots. You have a really good knack for bringing out the best in people when you shoot them.

    Great post-coloring technique too!

Great set, Steve! You are adept at getting the feel of everyday life in the neighborhood while highlighting the couple. I particularly enjoy the “bus shot” and love that you found the “unity” graffiti. Perfect!

  3. I love the second to last photograph, the post work on it is fantastic. I love the sense of scale in your compositions. :)

  6. Very cool! Love how you have incorporated elements of the surroundings into the shots. The bus images are my favourite. Very well seen and brilliantly executed. I’m sure they are going to be blow away by these images.

Loving the shot under the train tracks!

  15. Wicker Park is one of my favorite places in the city, both to shoot at, and to just visit. Something fun is always going on there. Love the way you captured the area, and that bus shot is clever :)

  16. Well rounded set. Definitely got a good street vibe going on.
