first-look-wedding

What is your style?
I tell stories with my photos. The first time you see your images, I want you to feel the same emotions that you felt on your wedding day. And I want to make sure you can feel those feelings every time you flip through your album or scroll through your gallery.

Will you pose us?
During portraits and family photos, I’ll provide some guidance and direction so that you look your best. Just about everyone feels awkward when they first step in front of a camera. I still freeze up whenever there’s a camera on me, so I totally get it. I work hard to make you comfortable so that your portraits can be as natural as possible. But for most of the day, I’m documenting all of the moments I see.

What kind of gear do you use?
I use Canon cameras and prime lenses. The way I work is similar to a documentary photographer, trying to tell stories with my photos. My 35mm is my favorite lens.

Do you have backup gear?
I’m kind of obsessive about it. I have backup camera bodies, flashes, and even lenses. I have more batteries than I’ll need, redundant memory cards in my cameras, and let’s not even get into how many hard drives I use for backup.

Do you travel for weddings?
Yes – I photograph a handful of destination weddings and weddings where I travel outside Chicago every year. Here’s a couple of recent ones – from Charleston and Cabo San Lucas.

How many photos do you deliver?
Every wedding is different, and there’s a ton of factors involved here from hours of coverage, number of guests, down-time, and how many grandparents are on the dance floor :) Most couples will end up with somewhere between 600-1000 images.

How do we book you?
I book on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’re ready to move forward, you can take care of both your contract and deposit online.
