Wedding season is craziest in the summer and fall in Chicago. With the winter months underway, I’m excited to be able to share more of what I photographed and documented this past season. Today’s blog post features Lauren and Adam’s lovely Modern Wing Art Institute wedding. The Modern Wing of the Art Institute wedding is one of my favorite places, so it’s always a pleasure to photograph a wedding there. The last time I worked with these two, it was at their engagement session, part of which took place at Three Dots and a Dash, a popular tiki bar near downtown Chicago that had special meaning to them. We built a really great rapport together at the session, so I was really looking forward to working with them again on the wedding day. It was a warm day – really warm – but the hot weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits, and we did our creative portraits around the museum so that we could duck into the air conditioning as soon as we were done shooting. Let’s get to the story:
We started off the day at the Palmer House hotel, where Lauren and Adam got ready.
When everyone was ready, we left the hotel and headed across the street to the museum for the first look.
It was very, very warm but everyone stayed in good spirits!
Into the museum (and the air conditioning) for the ketubah signing.

Time for the dance party, and the hora!
At the end of the night, we stepped out onto the bride for a last portrait with the Chicago skyline.
Congratulations again Lauren and Adam! I had a wonderful time working with you, your friends, and your families on your Modern Wing Art Institute wedding day. I wish you both all the best!
