Today, I’ll be sharing Lauren and Tom’s Modern Wing Art Institute of Chicago wedding on the blog. It’s the second appearance on my blog for Lauren and Tom; if they look familiar, you probably saw their Streeterville engagement session photos last spring. I was really looking forward to working with them again on their winter wedding day. Lauren and Tom were married at one of my favorite places to shoot, the Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago. Even though the weather outdoors was wet and cold, we had the lovely galleries of the museum that we were able to set as a backdrop for our portraits. Let’s get the photos!
I started off my day with Lauren, her friends, and her family as they got ready in their suite at the Palmer House Chicago, conveniently located across the street from the Art Institute.
Meanwhile, Tom got ready at he and Lauren’s home in Streeterville.
With everyone dressed and ready, we headed outside. In order to avoid the elements, we took the shortest Uber ride in history over the museum.
Lauren and Tom saw each other for the first time at the Art Institute.
We went around the museum for a few portraits with the wedding party.
Afterwards, it was time for the ceremony in Griffin Court. I was thrilled that Lauren decided to brave the stairs for her entrance into the ceremony.
Afterwards, Lauren briefly changed into a Chinese wedding dress for a tea ceremony at Terzo Piano…
… and then back into her white wedding dress for the rest of the night!
We snuck out for a couple of portraits at the end of the evening.
