Surrounded by skyscrapers and urban views, the Ivy Room almost feels like a secret garden on Chicago’s north side. Today, I’ll be sharing Val and Jon’s Ivy Room Wedding day on the blog. The Ivy Room has a lovely indoor loft space, but it’s the wall of ivy in their garden which makes it a stunning setting for a wedding day. Val and Jon’s day was filled with love from their friends and family. From the moment I walked into their suite, I was welcomed like a long-lost friend. Let’s get to the wedding day!
I started off my day with Val, her friends, and her family as they got ready in her suite at the Intercontinental Hotel downtown.
Jon also got ready in his own suite down the hall at the hotel.
We kept things simple by having the first look inside Val’s suite:
Afterwards, it was a short walk to the Ivy Room, so we headed over on foot.
A quick pit stop for mosquito spray:
With portraits done, we took a breather before the ceremony began.
After the ceremony, guests mingled and enjoyed the garden during cocktail hour before heading indoors for the reception.
Dance party time! Style Matters kept the dance floor packed all night long.
Congrats again Val and Jon! Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your wedding day. I had a wonderful time working with you, your families, and your friends, and I wish you all the best.
