Let’s welcome Kayte and Derek’s Art Institute Modern Wing wedding to the blog today! This is actually Kayte and Derek’s second appearance here – you may remember them from their Chicago engagement session photos last summer. It was a hot summer day, but we were thrilled to have clear skies since the past few days had been filled with rain. No rain also meant that Kayte and Derek could have their ceremony outdoors at the Art Institute’s Bluhm Terrace, overlooking downtown Chicago. Let’s get to the wedding photos!
I started off the day with Kayte, her bridesmaids, and her family as they got ready in their suite at the Palmer House Hilton, just steps from the Art Institute.
Kayte and Derek saw each other before their ceremony in the Art Institute’s gardens.
Afterwards, we stopped at a couple spots around the city for portraits with their wedding party.
And then it was back to the Art Institute for the ceremony and reception!
At the end of the night, we stepped out onto the bridge by the Art Institute for a couple of quick night portraits.
