Chicago Merchandise Mart Plaza Wedding : Katie and Jeff

Remember Katie and Jeff from their Chicago engagement session? I had a blast with them the first time around, so I couldn’t wait for their wedding at the Merchandise Mart Plaza!

I started off the wedding day with Katie and the girls as they got ready at her place. When everyone was ready to go, we headed to St. Alphonsus Church for the ceremony. It had started raining, but the girls were prepared with an army of umbrellas! After the ceremony, we headed back outside to see the the rain had stopped and skies were clearing. At our first meeting, Katie, Jeff, and I bonded over our love of running. The difference is that I run a couple times a week to relax and exercise, while either of these guys could kick my butt in a race! Jeff and Katie met, appropriately, at Universal Sole, a running store in Lakeview. It was only a block away from the church, so we stopped in for a quick photo! After hitting a few more spots in the city, we headed over to the Merchandise Mart Plaza for the reception. Sarah from Toast and Jam kept the dance floor packed, and everyone had a fantastic time!

You didn’t come here to read; you came for the photos, so scroll down!

Beautiful work. The shots of their first dance are so lovely and intimate. They looks so lost in their love for each other.

loved them all – but my favorites were katie going down the stairs, katie and Jeff walking outside, the black and white w/ the city behind them, the red/puple bridge framing the couple…..I could go on and on. These are great pictures and you captured the ‘feeling’ in all of them.
