Thanks for stopping by the blog! I’m really excited to share with everyone a rustic outdoor wedding I photographed in the beautiful state of Wisconsin. This area really stands out in the Fall so I can understand why when my bride and groom had to switch their February Lincoln Park wedding to a different location that they chose this! After shooting Erin and Bradley’s Lincoln Park engagement photos the plan had been have to have their wedding at Chicago’s iconic Cafe Brauer. As Murphy’s law has always proven, life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans so this roll with it couple managed to switch their wedding to my one open weekend in October and we made it work! Getting out of the city and exploring a new area always peaks the creative side of my brain, challenging me to creative something amazing (which I love). Having grown up in the area, Erin comfortably got ready at a local lakefront cottage while Bradley got ready at the Cambridge Country Club. After a helping hand from Mom to put her dress on, Erin headed out to the pier to meet Dad who would escort her via boat to her ceremony site! I’m not sure that just any bride could pull this off, but as Erin and her Dad stepped out of the boat and walked gracefully towards her future groom everything at that moment felt perfect. Surrounded by the amazing Fall foliage and close childhood friends, Erin tried to keep Bradley’s face dry by wiping away tears of happiness during their vows. How quickly I sometimes forget just how emotional of a process this can be! Following the ceremony guests were greeted with custom coozys that Erin and Bradley had made for everyone as a keepsake. I was struck by how the casualness of their backyard shindig felt so much more intimate than I had expected. Everyone was seated for dinner underneath a tent that would then host them for the rest of the evening with warm speeches an exuberant toasts. And just when things started to get a bit more rowdy, fireworks sprung from the sky and with that Erin and Bradley’s wedding day was official :)
Erin and Bradley- I’m flattered that you let me be a part of such a special moment of you life. I hope that the two of you have the best time in Mexico! I’ll be in the frozen region of Chicago…
