I first met Ivy and Jarad (and their cute Havanese dog Penny) at their engagement session last year, and really loved getting to know them better. I remember that like so many couples, they were initially a little bit nervous about being in front of the camera, but they had loosened up and were having so much fun by the end of the session. I was excited to see them again and document their Ivy Room wedding day. I’m excited to share a few of my favorite frames from the day on the blog. A big thank-you to my friend, the very-talented James Collier for coming to Chicago to photograph this wedding with me.
I started off the day finding out that Ivy and Jarad’s wedding was featured in the New York Times, which was a nice surprise for all of us! Ivy got ready with family and her bridesmaids in her suite at the Waldorf Astoria hotel.
Meanwhile, Jarad got ready with friends and family at home.
Ivy and Jarad saw each other in the courtyard of the Waldorf.
After they saw each other, we stopped for a couple portraits on our way to the venue.
The detail on Ivy’s Vera Wang veil was really beautiful:
Dance party time!
Congratulations again Ivy and Jarad; thank you for letting me be a part of your Ivy Room Wedding day. I had such a great time documenting your day and I wish you all the best!
