Like so many other couples who had planned their weddings for 2020, Erin and Michael needed to postpone their celebration due to the pandemic. As we entered 2021 and remained and the pandemic continued to linger, some of my clients chose to delay their wedding one more time while others like Erin and Michael chose to have a smaller wedding rather than rescheduling again. I had only spoken with these two virtually and over the phone, so I was excited to meet them in-person and document their celebration.
I arrived at Ignite a little early as Erin and Michael were helping set up all of their decorations and details.
After they finished setting up and getting ready, Erin and Michael had their first look.
We ran into some technical difficulties while trying to live-stream the ceremony, but Michael came to the rescue!
The ceremony took place on Ignite Glass Studio‘s rooftop, which has a beautiful view of the Chicago skyline.
And afterwards, we took a few portraits around Ignite.
Erin and Michael combined two glasses of sand during their ceremony, and the artists at Ignite used the sand to create a piece of glass artwork for them.
What’s a micro wedding without zoom calls with friends and family? :)
I took one last portrait at the end of the night before I left:
