A New Leaf Wedding : Jessica and Rey
It’s easy for anyone who spends time with Jessica and Rey to see that they’re truly in love. I had the pleasure of doing so at our Chicago engagement session last year, and I couldn’t wait to work with this amazing couple again on their wedding day. I started off my day with Jessica and the girls as they got ready at the Belden Stratford. Deborah from Honey and Light Photography was my fantastic second shooter, and she started off with the guys at the Swissotel in downtown Chicago. Jessica and Rey chose not to see each other before the ceremony, so we took care to avoid each other while making our way over to A New Leaf for the wedding. It was absolutely lovely outside, so we had the ceremony in the garden at A New Leaf. Jessica and Rey did a love letter & wine box ceremony – they wrote love letters to each other, and they sealed them away in a box along with a box of wine. If their relationship ever hit a bump in the road, they could open the wine box and read the letters while drinking the wine. If the box was just collecting dust at their 5 year wedding anniversary, they would open the box anyways to read the letters and enjoy some wine!
Afterwards, guests mingled at the cocktail hour while Jessica and Rey snuck out to do a few more fun photos around Lincoln Park. We headed back to A New Leaf for the reception, where Style Matters kept the guests dancing all night. (And wow, the house was packed with great dancers!)
Enough chatter. Time for the photos!
Shout outs to the fantastic people who helped make this day happen:
