You may remember Alexis and Pat from their engagement session in Lincoln Park earlier this year. I had so much fun working with them that I knew their Wilder Mansion wedding would be a blast! I started my day with Alexis as she got ready in a hotel room, surrounded by family and friends. Taylor Swift’s updo had nothing on Alexis’s fantastic hair, thanks to the amazing Morgan Blaul. With her makeup and white robe, Alexis looked more like a movie star than a bride!
Alexis and Pat saw each other for the first time in a garden just outside the site of their reception, Wilder Mansion in Elmhurst. We spent a little bit of time taking pictures with the whole bridal party before an emotional ceremony at Trinity Lutheran in Villa Park. Afterwards, Alexis and Pat let their guests and bridal party relax while we wandered around downtown Elmhurst for more fun portraits. Alexis sported a birdcage veil after the ceremony, too (and I love birdcage veils)! Finally, it was time for the wedding reception! While I was walking around shooting details, I spotted Alexis in a back room bustling her dress, with some help from her mom and a friend. She was right by a window while the sun was setting, and the light was absolutely gorgeous!
Alexis took on a swarm of do-it-yourself projects for her wedding. She did her own flowers, handkerchiefs for family, friends, and guests, a creative thumbprint guestbook, the table centerpieces, church decorations, the candle etchings, and so much more! All of these details really made a large mansion wedding feel very intimate and personal.
Congratulations, Alexis and Pat. I loved being a part of your wedding day!

These photos really tell the story beautifully. The photo of the church from above through the doorway really caught my eye. I love how the scene is also reflected on the left as well. Great angle, well spotted, very unique! :)
