Katie and Mark had a lovely, fun country club wedding in Highland Park, just outside of Chicago. If these two look familiar, it’s probably because you saw them on the blog at their Chicago engagement session! We started off the day with Katie as she got ready in the house that she grew up in. When Katie and her girls were ready, it was off to First Congregational Church in Des Plaines for the wedding. After the ceremony, we stopped at a hot dog place that Katie and Mark used to hang out at – because who doesn’t love hanging out with their friends with hot dogs and beer?! After everyone had downed a hot dog and a beer, we headed for Highland Park. Rain was in the forecast for the afternoon, and it indeed started coming down on our drive up to the country club. As luck would have it, the rain went away as we pulled up, so we were able to go onto the grounds in a fleet of golf carts to take more pictures!
Congratulations, Katie and Mark. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day; I had so much fun! With neither of my associate photographers available for this wedding, I was lucky enough to have the fantastic Christine Otte with me for the day; thanks for all of your help and some awesome shots, Christine!

I may love them, but weddings aren’t for everyone!
The bus was forced to stop when a freight train was crossing in front of us – may as well run out and take a picture!
Pit stop at Photo’s Hot Dogs! I remember having this conversation with Mark and Katie on the phone before the wedding:
Mark and Katie: “Hey Steve, we’re going to stop at this place that we used to hang out at.”
Me: “Ok, no problem.”
Mark and Katie: “It’s a hot dog place. We’re going to get hot dogs and beer.”
Me: “Ok, definitely no problem!”
The place even had its own photo booth!
And they were nice enough to give us complimentary beer and food!
As we were leaving, someone got pulled over and stopped right by our bus. We thought about going for a picture, but this was as close as we got!
I did say this was a country club wedding – and we’re finally at the country club!
