Stephanie and Daniel’s Wedding

You may remember Stephanie and Daniel from their engagement session in downtown Chicago. Like a lot of people, they were a little bit nervous at first in front of the camera, but by the end of our session, we were having a great time. I was really excited to be able to work with them again on their wedding day!

I started my day off with Stephanie as she got ready with her mother and bridesmaids. Nicky started the day off with Daniel and the guys. We had a first look on the stairs of Swift Hall before making our way over to Bond Chapel for the ceremony. Afterwards, we all walked over to the Quadrangle Club for the ceremony, stopping for pictures along the way. It had rained all morning, but by afternoon, the sun was out in full force! Stephanie and Daniel bucked tradition by having individual mini-pies made for every guest instead of having cake. The pies, made by their friend David, were absolutely delicious! I can’t imagine how much time went into making individual pies for almost 100 people. The favors were two dollar bills that Stephanie’s sister, Willa, had folded into origami shapes. Flora did Stephanie’s lovely bouquet and all of the flowers at the wedding. Stephanie and Daniel also had a stack of board games and a photo booth for anyone who didn’t want to dance. Congratulations again, Stephanie and Daniel! Thank you so much for the opportunity to capture your wedding day; we had such a fantastic time celebrating with you!

Marvellous work Steve. Being particularly fond of off-beat reportage, I especially love the rest room make-up shot. It has a touch of the iconic about it.

  6. Beautiful. Love all of the candid moments and your reception shots are gorgeous (and beautifully lit) Very nice work.

  9. Fantastic work. I skipped to the photos first and said “Wait, I know this place! But it’s not New York!”

Great venue, and you did great work in a VERY dark ceremony space.

I love the picture of the bride with her father. At least I think it is her father. Lots of emotion there. The other photos are great too.
