I met Jenny years ago when I photographed her brother James’ wedding. It’s humbling when I get to photograph more than one wedding for the same family, and I really like being able to see some familiar faces. Jenny and Tommy were married at the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago, and more than anything else, they just wanted to have a laid-back, fun day. They wanted the same for their guests, which made them a perfect fit for the way that I work. I loved being able to document their day exactly as it happened!
Tommy and the guys arrived at the bride’s suite for some door games. If you don’t know what these are, photos might be able to explain better than words:
Afterwards, Jenny and Tommy saw each other for the first time.
It had been raining in the morning, but it let up just enough for us to head outside for a few creative portraits.
Jenny and her father practiced their first dance in a quiet moment before the ceremony:
Time for the dance party! Style Matters kept the dance floor packed all night long.
After the first dance, Jenny changed into her second dress, a beautiful red Chinese wedding dress.
We stepped out onto the patio at the end of the night for a night portrait. I loved the nature-inspired patterns that were being projected onto the walls and wanted to use them in a portrait with Jenny and Tommy.
Congrats again Jenny and Tommy! I had a lovely time working with you, your friends, and your families. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to document your Peninsula Hotel Wedding day. I wish you both all the best! You can contact me here if you’re interested in working together. You can read more about me in my bio, and see what other clients are saying in my reviews.
