Even though they live in San Francisco now, Amy and Adam were getting married back in Chicago at Cafe Brauer. I always try to meet my clients face-to-face before Chicago weddings, but unfortunately, our schedules just didn’t line up to make it happen. Even though we had chatted on the phone and over Skype, I had no idea what Amy and Adam would be like. Luckily for me, they were pretty awesome. As soon as I walked into Amy’s room, she gave me a present from California: a bag of Blue Bottle coffee! She and Adam had remembered that I talked about how much I loved it in one initial consultation, and they somehow still remembered! At that point, I knew that the rest of the day would be amazing. Amy and Adam got ready at separate rooms at the Belden Stratford Hotel. When everyone was ready, we headed for the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond in separate groups for the first look! It was cloudy, but fortunately, the rain was staying away, so we were able to do some photos with the wedding party on our walk down to Cafe Brauer. The ceremony was held outdoors on the lovely field in front of Cafe Brauer, and we moved indoors for the reception just as the raindrops began to fall. Amy and Adam also had a unique cookie cake from Vanille Patisserie, the likes of which I had never seen before, and the band kept everyone on the dance floor all night. Congratulations, Amy and Adam! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to document your wedding day. And thank you for the Blue Bottle – I’m enjoying it as I finish typing this! :)

That last shot of them dancing in the crowd is epic!
LOVE the theme here! And the first look was amazing. Great job!
Love that frame of Adam and his mother. So much emotion!
So, totally random, but I have a bride wearing that dress later this year and it gets me super excited to see it in action. Anyways, I really love the lighting at the reception, and that last shot, just amazing.
This is one of my fav images from your recent weddings! The light is amazing all around and I have a soft spot for wedding dresses with pockets =)
Great captures Steve!!! All shots are my fav!
Beautiful wedding! Love the purple touches!
Nice work and that last shot is amazing!
Wow these photos are amazing! Great job!
I can’t even pick which one I like best. They are all incredible. Excellent work!
dang, great coverage! Their first look is so sweet :) Your reception shots are killer
Killer set Steve! Reception shots are money. Especially the last one with the flare.
Great job, and a great wedding. You rocked the window light at the beginning, and the shot of the skyline is not an obvious angle but adds that much more depth and feeling to it.
Steve these are awesome! The little moments that you captured, like the bride wiping her tears during the ceremony, are awesome! Your lighting is amazing also. Great job :)
Seriously amazing work here. The detail shots are incredible, and the colors and tones are so vibrant!! Gorgeous work!
