“Did we mention that the dance floor lights up?” My first conversation with Tricia and Scott was quite awhile ago, but that line is one of two things I clearly remember from our meeting. The other thing I remember is how excited the two of them were for their wedding! They were so obviously in love, and they were thrilled to be able to celebrate with their friends and family. Getting back to the dance floor… Tricia and Scott were getting married at the beautiful Holy Family Church and having their wedding reception at the Chicago Knickerbocker Hotel. The Knickerbocker’s ballroom is a gorgeous, ornately decorated room, with a modern light-up dance floor. It may look out of place, but any such impressions that I had were quickly blown away by how cool it was!
I started off my day with Tricia and her bridesmaids at the hotel. Tricia’s dress was constructed by Scott’s mother, who did an amazing job! I hopped into a car with Tricia and her parents and we made our way over to Holy Family Church. After the ceremony, we were off to the lakefront to take a few pictures before heading back to the Knickerbocker for the reception. Early on during the reception, Scott grabbed his guitar and sang a song he had written for Tricia – so sweet, and it was really good, too! The awesome Carrie from Toast and Jam was on hand to DJ, and the dance floor glowed blue all night. Congratulations Scott and Tricia, and thanks so much for giving me the opportunity to capture your wedding day. I had a blast!

With a dancefloor like that, I hope there was a lot of disco music on the playlist! Well captured wedding.
Definitely the coolest dance floor ever. The shot with the entire wedding party in front of the water is just fantastic. Love the color of the water.
Looks like an amazing wedding, I love all the warmth from the people there – and what a massive wedding party! I think my favourite shot is of them all walking along the walkway in their wedding clothes like it’s just another day.
