April in Chicago is normally filled with plenty of Spring showers, so I was pleasantly surprised (ok, thrilled!) that we had a beautiful sunny day for Susan and Shane’s wedding at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago. Having shot at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago before I’m always excited to be back because it’s such an amazing hotel. The natural and bright lighting in Susan’s suite was perfect for her, her sister, and her mother to get ready in. With everyone in great spirits it was also a perfect space to toast with some champagne to the momentous occasion and gorgeous weather. Getting to know Susan and Shane’s family was a blast, but being there to see their 4 children witness their parent’s vows definitely tugged at the heart strings a little. Shane and Susan then danced the night away in a beautifully candle lit room surrounded by best friends, loving family, and cake fueled kids. I couldn’t have imagined a better forever after!
I started off the day with Susan as she got ready in her suite at the hotel:
We had our first look in the courtyard in front of the hotel.
One of my favorites from the day:
After the ceremony, Susan, Shane, and their guests celebrated at their cocktail hour while I took a few quick detail photos at the reception.
I loved this quiet moment with Susan and her son:
And now, time for the dance party!
Every dance party needs more cowbell!
Congratulations again, Susan and Shane. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wedding day. I wish you both nothing but the best!
