Rockhouse Negril Destination Wedding : Amie and Doug
I shot a destination wedding at the Rockhouse last April. I had met the couple only briefly, since they lived in New York, and I’d never worked with them before. Luckily, they turned out to be amazing, fun people who had a beautiful wedding. A couple weeks ago, I shot another destination wedding at the Rockhouse in Negril, Jamaica. It was another couple from New York who I’d only been able to chat with on the phone before their wedding day. That couple was Amie and Doug, and luckily for me, they were fantastic people who had a gorgeous, fun wedding! Even though I’ve only been there twice, the Rockhouse in Negril may be one of my favorite venues to shoot a destination wedding – it’s beautiful, the staff is very friendly, and it doesn’t hurt that the food is great!
Be sure to check out coverage of the beach rehearsal dinner first. I started off my day with Amie as she got ready with her friends and family. Nicky came with me to Jamaica, so she stayed with the guys as they got ready and spent the morning literally jumping off cliffs. We had originally planned to take photos before the ceremony with the wedding party, but the heat proved to be too much, so we all took a break to hydrate indoors. It worked out beautifully because after the ceremony, we had some beautiful sunset light to work with. There were some scattered showers earlier in the morning, but they had given way to mostly sunny skies and a rainbow! It had cooled off and the weather had cleared up completely be evening, so everyone danced the night away under the stars. Congratulations again, Amie and Doug. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wedding day!
